Abstract:A new type of step disc piezoelectric ceramic transformer is proposed and studied in this work.Comparing with the conventional disc piezoelectric ceramic transformer,the primary piezoelectric ceramic disk was replaced by different thickness of piezoelectric ceramic inside dish and outer ring.The piezoelectric equation combined with the elastic theory was applied to the analysis of the radial vibration of the piezoelectric disc and ring vibrator polarized in thickness direction,and the equivalent circuit of this new type of piezoelectric ceramic transformer was derived by using analytical method. Based on this, the analytical solutions of the input impedance, the resonance frequency,the anti resonance frequency,the voltage gain and the power efficiency were obtained.The calculated resonance frequency and anti resonance frequency were compared with the simulation results of ANSYS.The results show that the simulation results agreed with the calculated results. Then,the effect of the geometry size of the novel piezoelectric transformer on the maximum voltage gain and its corresponding frequency has been analyzed.
